"As I mentioned earlier, scoring those four goals so quickly in the first period probably cost the Senators winning that series, as Matt Murray would go on to allow just seven goals in almost five games. If Fleury was in net, only one goal would’ve made all the difference in the world, but instead, Murray was a brick wall."
Better be careful, the MAF apologist don't like it when the truth is told. |

Ha, Fleury was still decent, but Murray stole the series |

ONE of these guys has to be part of a Karlsson trade.
OR resign the guy to a 8 year @11.5m deal |

It was something that ECF. That was a tough loss vs Pittsburg. Heck of a series. Karlsson put his ankle on the line for us . It really was a close series,we took the reigning stanley cup champs to a inch of their hockey life that post season. I loved the back forth between the players. Karlsson poking fun at Crosby,Malkin poking fun at Methot. I enjoyed that series better then the 007 finals.
we will be back, some sorting out to do,some time to get the engine revving again. It will be faster, stronger then ever. |

problem is if Karlsson doesn't want to be part of the Sens, doesn't matter how much money we offer, he'll turn it down. As well do we really want a player who doesn't want to be here? |

I understand what you're saying, the problem is WHY tf does he NOT want to be here? They need to correct this BIG time. We all know Melnyk's view on $ is the problem. |

Thanks Trevor.
I was in the same timezone as you at that time and I remember the short nights vividly. Unforgettable, even though we ended up short.
I had two of those "can't lose" moments in my life and this is one of them (the other being the Netherlands during the 2010 world cup). |

Best case scenario for all this mess is we trade Karlsson to Vegas for a future heavy package which includes their 1st rounder for next year without any protection, and hope they fall back down to earth.

Well, technically Barrie + our 1st would be better from Colorado. Then we can say we traded an expensive Karlsson for a cheaper Barrie and Turris + Bowers for Duchene, I guess

I agree, but it's pretty simple, if he wanted to be here, he would have resigned by now |

It's also what I'm thinking. I only see two ways we keep Erik Karlsson: we offer him something stupid high (8x$14M+), or there's a change in senior management.
So, one way out, really. |

No. None of those guys has to be. Barrie and a first is the approximate. |

Barrie and a 1st for Karlsson would be crazy stupid for Ottawa to give up.
Maybe Barrie, our first, Bowers back and another 1st lol |

But our 1st is guaranteed to get us Jack Hughes! (so we're constantly told)
But in all seriousness, giving up EK65 *could* end up making that pick higher than if we had him, all depends on what we get back.
Might be more advantageous for Colorado to just stay out of it and hope we get lowballed AND lose EK65, improving the pick overall.
I don't think that'll be the case though, as long as there's at least a couple of possible suitors, which there are. Just a question of whether it's before or after the season starts.
Hope Dorion holds strong, salvaging his reputation depends on it! |

's actually looking like a 4 team deal .taken with a grain of salt but I have family that work closely with EM who is dictating the deal dorion is just the receptionist.
Ottawa signs EK to 8 year 10 mill for Tampa.
To Tampa EK sign at 8x10 Zack Smith .
To Rangers Callahan Tampa 2020 2nd and 2021 3rd
To Vegas Bobby Ryan and Ottawa 2020 second and Tampa 2021 first.
To Ottawa Tyler Johnson . Sergechev . And Vegas 2019 3rd round pick |

That's actually a great deal for Ottawa.
Bye-bye Ryan and Smith, hello Sergachev and Johnson.
Rangers and Vegas get (frank)ed over on levels I had no idea existed.
Taking Ryan on for a 2020 2nd and a 2021 1st
Callahan for a 2020 2nd and 2021 3rd |
